Ammonium Chloride, 100 g, 99.5% Assay, ReagentPlus® Grade, CAS Number 12125-02-9, NH4Cl Chemical Formula, 53.49 g/mol Molecular Weight, White, Crystalline Powder, 340°C Melting Point, 4.5-5.5 pH Range, 1.9 g/cm3 Density
Ammonium chloride is commonly used as fertilizer. It can be synthesized by neutralizing ammonia with hydrochloric acid. It shows high vapor pressure at higher temperature. It is employed as an electrolyte during the production of drycell batteries. Its crystal structure has been analyzed by powder and single crystal neutron diffraction methods. Ammonium chloride shows change in some of the physical characteristics on its addition to a high carbonate containing unfired and fired illitic shale.
