Cytiva's Whatmanâ„¢ GD/XP disposable syringe filter, a modification of the GD/X line, uses a polypropylene prefilter stack, making GD/XP suitable for samples that require inorganic ion analysis. Because of their high purity and minimal ion extractable, GD/XP syringe filters are recommended for analyzing ion content that would otherwise experience interference from glass-based extractable. For example, GD/XP is used for trace metal analysis, particularly ion analysis using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).
